PriceWatch vs Visualping for pricing pages
Visualping is a well-known general-purpose page monitor. PriceWatch is narrower on purpose: it watches public pricing pages and reads prices, plans and limits out of the text. If you want to watch a news site, a job board or a login-walled dashboard, Visualping is the better fit. If you want to know when a competitor's plan price or tier limit moved, read on.
Side by side
Prices and limits below were read from Visualping's public pricing page in 2026-10; the footnotes give the plan and the source. PriceWatch numbers are the current plans on the pricing page.
| Feature | PriceWatch Pro, $19/mo | Visualping |
|---|---|---|
| 25 pages checked hourly | Included, unlimited checks | 18,000 checks per month, more than the Personal plan's 10,000[1], so the Business plan at $100/mo billed annually[2] |
| Pricing model | Flat monthly price, unlimited checks on every plan | Monthly check allowance by plan: Personal 10,000 checks[1], Business 20,000 checks[2] |
| Slack alerts | All plans, including Free (webhooks too) | Listed among Business plan integrations[3] |
| What you receive | Line-by-line text diff plus the extracted prices | Visual or text change notice |
| Non-price changes (tier renames, plan removals, limit changes) | AI summary of what the packaging change means (paid plans) | Raw diff |
| Price history | Chart per monitor, 365 days, CSV export | Not a pricing-specific feature |
Feature rows describe what each product does as of 2026-10; they do not claim the two are equivalent. PriceWatch prices are monthly billing; Visualping prices are the annual-billing rates its pricing page shows. PriceWatch is not affiliated with or endorsed by Visualping.
What PriceWatch does not do
- No visual or pixel diffs. PriceWatch keeps page text and compares text. A layout change with the same words is not a change here.
- Not built for non-pricing pages. Any public page can be watched, but price extraction, A/B muting and the AI summaries are tuned for pricing and product pages. For news, docs or job listings, a general monitor does more.
- No mobile app. Alerts arrive by email, Slack or webhook; the dashboard is a web page.
- No per-seat pricing. Plans are priced by monitors and check frequency, not by users; monitors can be shared with teammates at no extra cost. If you need more pages than Business includes, email me first.
- No login walls, no bypassing blocks. If a site rejects automated requests, the check fails and the monitor says so.
Two weeks of data from the public board
The SaaS pricing changes board watches 40 public pricing pages. Over two weeks it produced 592 raw detections; 255 of them (43%) were A/B flips, where a page switched between versions it had shown before. Intercom's pricing page alone showed 11 versions and flipped between $29 and $19 sixteen times. Over 8 of those days, across all 40 pages, there was exactly 1 list-price change (ClickUp, $8 → $9). 5 of the 40 pages needed JavaScript rendering to show a price at all.
That ratio is why PriceWatch mutes A/B flips and extracts the price instead of alerting on every text change: on a pricing page, most changes are not price changes. How detections are counted is on the methodology page.
Frequently asked questions
- Does PriceWatch charge per check?
- No. Every plan is a flat monthly price with unlimited checks. The plan sets how many pages you watch and how often: Free 5 monitors every 3 hours, Pro 25 monitors hourly for $19, Business 100 monitors every 15 minutes for $49. Checking 25 pages hourly all month costs the same as checking them once.
- Can it watch pricing pages that render prices with JavaScript?
- Yes. Turn on 'Render JavaScript' for that monitor and the page is loaded in a headless browser. It is off by default because most pages do not need it: on the public board, 5 of 40 pricing pages did. Some large sites block automated checks; when that happens the check fails and the monitor says so.
- What about A/B tests and false positives?
- Many pricing pages show different versions to different visitors. PriceWatch records each version the first time it appears, and once a page keeps switching between versions it has already seen, returns to a known version are muted and labelled A/B instead of alerted. A genuinely new version is still shown once. The rules are written up on the methodology page.
- How long is history kept?
- Change history, including extracted prices and diffs, is kept for 365 days by default. Alert delivery logs are kept for 90 days. You can export price history as CSV at any time.
Free plan is 5 monitors, every 3 hours, no card. If that is enough for you, stay on it.
